What makes ThinLine so different?

“The manner in which this product absorbs motion encourages horses to lift their backs, developing strength and top-line.”  It has been endorsed by Veterinarians, for horses, as well as Spinal Surgeons for riders. It is a top pick for Master Saddlers around the world. Equine Chiropractors and Massage Therapists carry it on their trucks to keep horses going strong, supple, and relaxed.  Trainers and riders find it a trusted product to improve rider equitation.

It is the dual benefits of extraordinary shock absorption and rider motion reduction that sets ThinLine apart from other saddle pads.

The ThinLine Cotton Wither Free Quilted Pads are made with ThinLine (3/16″) over a high-quality quilted cotton base pad, creating a contoured wither profile and spine-free channel. This design allows the ThinLine to lay on either side of the spine so that it is always in the right place. Delivering the maximum shock absorbency in the minimum thickness.

Thinline is the only product endorsed by surgeons, master saddlers & veterinarians.

What is ThinLine?

ThinLine is a thin, shock-absorbing non-slip breathable foam.

  • Impact (shock) absorbency of over 95%
  • Carrying Capacity – it is the only equestrian product that distributes rider weight across the pad
  • Non compressing – It never bottoms out, moves or degrades.
  • Breathable
  • Non-Slip
  • It is the only saddle pad endorsed by spinal surgeons, master saddlers, and veterinarians for back health in horses and humans.

You will feel all the sensations of your horses’ back muscles while enjoying the shock absorption and non-slip features of the trademark ThinLine foam. Balance, comfort, and security can all be yours in our saddle pads. You will find yourself sitting correctly, developing great core strength while enjoying a close but quiet communication with your horse. Equines love ThinLine – they feel unified with their rider. So go ahead, it is time to have the ride of your life.

How do I know ThinLine is delivering the comfort and protection my horse needs?

Once you receive your ThinLine pad, ride in it for at least a week.  At first, you may simply notice things like; “my horse was great today, my seat and aids were soft and effective”, great job! you are on your way.  You will see daily improvement. But, this can be a bit subtle in the beginning.

How to check out your pad’s effectiveness.  After at least a week of riding daily, begin your warm-up with the ThinLine.  Once you are warmed up, remove the ThinLine and ride.  This is when you will see just how much your horse is loving their saddle pad.

Love this pad! Fits my saddlebred with cutback saddle nicely. Thinline does 100% help my back. I moved and stopped using Thinline for a few months and my back was killing me. Couldn’t figure it out until I started using it again and no more back pain!

I love this pad! It fits my small monoflap jump saddle perfectly. It’s so nice not to have to use a quilt and a half pad. I would love to have more color options .

My first pad got lost in the mail and their customer service was GREAT during that process! I finally got the pad and it fits great. My TB appreciates the support of the thinline pad without the extra bulk of layers. My saddle fitter recommended this pad as he rehabs and builds better topline.

    A

Thanks for your question! The shims are sold separately and can be found here.

  2. Can you use this saddle pad with your Trifecta half pad?
  3. Q Can you use this saddle pad with your Trifecta half pad? answer now
    A

Thank you for your question! This pad comes with ThinLine panels along the topline for an all-in-one pad style.

It's shimmable for adjusting your saddle fit or adding an extra layer of overall ThinLine protection. So it's likely that you wouldn't need to layer a half pad if you add any needed shims to this pad.

Please feel free to give it a try with your half pad, but you may find that it's too much bulk under your saddle.

Thanks for your question! The Wither Relief Pad fits a wide range of english saddles.

The best way to learn if it's a good fit is to measure your saddle's "footprint" and compare to the pad measurements.

  6. I have a high withered horse with a very short back. How do I measure her back for fitting this pad? I use an all purpose stubben saddle that fits very well. I may not need a shimmed pad but can't find a cutback or pad in your line other than this one. Is this the only pad that might work for a high withered horse or can you recommend another one too?

Hi Jeri, thanks for your question!

The Wither Relief Pad is a great option for high withered horses and the measurements are:  20″ spine  | 17.5″ Drop | 16″ Flap width

You can compare these to your saddle's measurements to see if this pad will be a good fit.

Since you have a well fitting saddle and do not necessarily need a shimmable pad, please check out our new Perfect Fit pad. It's a wonderful update to our Basic pad line and the new design offers great wither clearance!

Almost all of our pads, except the Basic line, offer a contoured topline with structure and lift at the wither.

Please feel free to call or email if you'd like further help choosing a pad.  919-680-6803 | [email protected]
