The ThinLine English Seat Saver is an incredible tool for your riding.

It is so thin and effective you will forget it is there … until you take it off!

When we developed the ThinLine English Seat Savers, we thought they would be a great way for riders to discover just how much a ThinLine pad does for their horses.  We had no idea, at the time, how much this little tack accessory would impact so many riders.  Of course, protecting riders’ backs from the daily impact we experience is important, but then we began hearing stories about how, with the seat maker, riders’ seats became so quiet and stable that they were able to exponentially improve their equitation as well as their sense of security.  Once removed for the show ring, riders have a new understanding of how still, sensitive and communicative they can be with their horses.

Try it for yourself. We have a 30-day money-back guarantee. When you remove it, you will understand just how much it does for you.

Rider comfort – eliminates or greatly reduces lower back pain.

Improved equitation – reduces bounce and excess rider movement.

A sense of safety – offers radical stability in the saddle.

Rider performance – gaits are easier to sit.

Balance – Crooked seats can be relieved by adding a balance shim under the English saddle seat maker.

ThinLine English Seat Makers are lightweight, breathable, seamless, cool, and virtually invisible.

I found myself sitting closer and quieter, feeling more secure.  I rode for three days with the English seat maker then I took it off.  I would consider myself a pretty good rider but after I removed it I could feel just how much I was really shifting around and over cueing my horse. Now I put it on for all training days. I take it off for shows and now my cues are so much more organized I feel confident.”  -Mary Baker, Hunter Rider

“I purchased my dream horse this year.  He is an incredible mover.  But I never had the opportunity to ride such a horse so I was constantly feeling like I was doing him a great disservice with my seat at the trot.  Afraid that I was going to ruin this magnificent animal, and having always been a ThinLine fan I decided to give this seat maker a try.  All I can say is thank you ThinLine.  I have regained my confidence.  I am able to sit his gaits.  I remove the seat maker about once a week to check my fitness and flexibility. I am not yet to the place where I can be as stationary without it as I am with it. I plan always to keep this item in my tack box.  It is a jewel.”  -Beatrice Buckhead, Third Level Dressage Rider.

“Ok. So, I bought this because my trail saddle really is not that comfortable.  I guess I did not read all the information because I was so surprised by what it did.  I was always a little fearful when my friends would trot fast through the woods. But now I feel so safe!” -Christine

wow. it really worked for my friend love your stuff!!!! can you make the native american tack lighter?

When I tried this seat saver i was expecting what i am accustomed to, a thick sheepskin seat saver. When you first sit on it you think you have purchased nothing. You cannot feel it right away. But, after hours in the saddle neither my seat bones nor back were sore. Best yet, there is no bulk. So don’t let the first impression of historical seat savers dampen your enthusiasm. It is great.

Carol Bell Landon: I use Thin line seat saver and saddle pad. The seat saver helps me “stick” to the saddle. The pad helps to raise the saddle a bit off the withers. Love all products and so does my horse Jack !

I can’t believe what a difference this pad makes! First of all it makes riding so much easier. I am able to ride for longer and can easily sit my huge Warmblood’s trot. His trot is so big it even throws me out of the saddle while posting normally. Not anymore with this pad! Secondly, I bought the ultra thinline back on track pad for my other horse who has a hyper sensitive back (chiropractor checked him out, he’s fine, just ultra sensitive) and the pad made a big difference in his overall relaxation…but I have NEVER – in the nearly 3 years I’ve owned him – been able to sit on his back at canter, only forward seat, half seat. As soon as he feels my seat even lightly in the saddle he drops his back down and takes off as fast as he can with ears pinned. Today, for the first time ever with this thinline seat saver, I was able to sit down on his back at the canter! He didn’t drop his back or run off, he accepted my seat aid and ROUNDED his back underneath me! It’s a miracle. I’m ordering a seconded one so that I have one on my dressage saddle and one on my jumping saddle. This same horse also had a problem with bucking up until now at the canter when his back would get tight. Today with the seat saver: No bucking! Not even when I took him over some low jumps. He was so comfortable he didn’t even spook at his usual place in the arena. These are big Warmbloods that I ride and I’m only 5’3” 120 lbs. This seat saver allows me to stay with the horse better and feel more solid in the saddle. It also keeps my leg quieter and solidly against the horse’s side. Plus it’s EXTREMELY comfortable and the horses move better underneath me with it. 5 stars! I wish I had tried this sooner. Thank you thinline.

Bought a second seat saver for my dressage saddle because I love this for my jumping saddle. My horse has a tendency to spook frequently but I find that the seat saver keeps me in the saddle much more securely. When he spooks I no longer become unseated. It helps me to ‘stick’ to the saddle. It gets very hot in San Diego during the summer, so wearing full seat breaches can cause me to overheat. I’ve found that I no longer need my full seat breeches to feel secure in the saddle with this seat saver. Overall it helps me to be more relaxed during my ride and that transmits to the horse, so he stays more relaxed too. And if he does happen to spook, it seems like he doesn’t get such a jolt in the back from unseating me so he calms down and goes back to work much faster, relaxing more quickly. I use the seat saver on top of the saddle and the Contender II back on track thin line pad underneath the saddle. This seems to be a winning combination for my horses! It been a complete game changer for my riding and their performance.

The description of this product is completely accurate. Before I purchased the seat saver, I was skeptical that something so thin could make riding so much more comfortable, but the difference is unbelievable. I feel much more secure in the saddle, and even though I have some back issues, I don’t have pain after riding anymore.

  7. Juni Greenough

I purchased one of these pads last year to reduce impact on my arthritic spine and hips.I found it to be so helpful I purchased a 2 Nd one for my Husband.I have a failed spinal fusion which means I have a possible slip at times in my lower back, but rarely have issues in the saddle thanks to this excellent product which incidentally does not cause uncomfortable pressure in the front, I highly recommend this product.

I ordered this seat saver based on the positive reviews and was very disappointed. It is way too big for a 17″ dressage saddle, and bulged where it should have fit smoothly across the saddle’s seat, making it very uncomfortable. Maybe it should come in different sizes? The material is also very hot if riding outdoors now (temps in the mid-upper 80’s here, July in eastern PA). I gave it 2 stars because it appears well made. Will be returning it.

When using The extra ThinLine piece shim for balancing riders with asymmetry... How is it placed and kept from moving around between the Seat Maker and your saddle? I have many back issues and scolosis which has me having a very imbalanced crooked seat.

Thank you for your question! ThinLine material is grippy and the balance shim won't move once it's inserted under the Seat Maker.

  3. Q How do the seat maker Shima work answer now
A Thank you for your question! The seat maker shim is great for balancing out asymmetrical riders and is used in between the Seat Maker and you saddle underneath whichever side needs to be lifted. It also works well for taking up extra space behind the seat in saddles that are a bit too large for the rider.
  4. This maybe a dumb question, but my seat saver came with a black, rectangular piece of thinline material. How am I supposed to use it?

A Thank you for your question! No such thing as a dumb one! The extra ThinLine piece is a shim for balancing riders with asymmetry and can be used between the Seat Maker and your saddle. It is also helpful for filling in the space behind the rider in saddles with seat sizes that are a bit too large. It was included as a gift with purchase promotion.
