Frequently Asked Questions:

Which English Half Pads are shimmable?

My saddle was professionally fitted to my horse; which pad is best for me?

How do I know if I need shims in my half pad?

    • We always recommend working with a saddle fitter. If you notice that your horse has uneven sweat marks or is dry in some spots after riding, these are good indicators that shims may be necessary for your saddle pad set up. Other instances include but are not limited to: the saddle not sitting properly on the horse’s back, tipping forward, pinching the withers, etc. Always consult your veterinarian and saddle fitter.

What size should I order?

      • Small- 16.5” seat and under
      • Medium- 17” & 17.5” seats
      • Large- 18” and over
      • Some saddles have larger or smaller than average panels under the cantle, so if in doubt, measure the full length of the underside of your saddle, including the panels.
