ThinLine delivers protection for both horses and riders.

The only product endorsed by surgeons, master saddlers & veterinarians.

 What makes ThinLine so different?

What is ThinLine?

ThinLine is a thin, shock absorbing non slip breathable foam.  Endorsed by surgeons, master saddlers, riders and veterinarians.

Where is the ThinLine?

It is sewn onto the panel of our saddle pads.

The manner in which this product absorbs motion encourages horses to lift their backs, developing strength and top-line. It has been endorsed by Veterinarians, for horses, as well as Spinal Surgeons for riders. It is a top pick for Master Saddlers around the world. Equine Chiropractors and Massage Therapists carry it on their trucks to keep horses going strong, supple and relaxed. Trainers and riders find it a trusted product to improve rider equitation.

How do you add Saddle Fitting Shims?

There is a pocket at the bottom of the foam which allows you to shim in any area.

So soft! So sweat-absorbing! Merino Wool on a synthetic hide makes it easy to wash!

Performance guarantee

You will see and feel an increased performance in how horses lift their backs with this Western sheepskin saddle pad. ThinLine gives you an amazing seat and super shock absorption without losing the feel. Riders will sit closer, quieter, and horses will move with a much more relaxed back. Breathable ThinLine technology helps to keep this comfort saddle pad cool under your saddle. A pocket for shims allows you to fine-tune your saddle fit. ThinLine is all about helping horses and rider achieve relaxation, suppleness, and communication. This is one of the finest ThinLine products we have produced.

What is Full Merino Woven Wool?

Merino lambs are sheared, and then the wool is needled onto a fabric backing.
The wool quality, length, and density is more consistent than Merino wool on a natural hide.
The longevity of Woven Wool is superior to Merino Wool on a hide. Generally, the hide is what becomes compromised after it encounters dampness or heat.

Woven Wool contains no hide. Therefore, sheep are not harmed in the making of this pad.
With Woven Wool, machine washing is simple.

The Woven Wool Sheepskin Western Comfort Pad comes with the same ThinLine features you know and trust.

Shimmable for customized saddle fit with shims made of the same trademark foam.
And the shaped wither profile provides clearance while the ThinLine panels help create a spine free channel.
With 95% shock absorption, provided by the ThinLine foam, this pad also minimizes rider movement creating a quieter seat.
ThinLine’s open cell technology provides breathability and is non-slip.

A full panel of 100% natural, medical grade sheepskin woven onto a synthetic hide will be against your horse. Covering the Merino wool, a high-grade quilted cotton pad with a light wool fill. The ThinLine panels sewn on top create a spine free channel. Optional shims may be added under the ThinLine panels for saddle fitting needs or to double your protection.

Medical Grade Sheepskin Wash Instructions

Our products come with a full-year warranty provided they are cared for as directed.

Regular maintenance: Dry between rides. Place the pad wool side up in a cool environment, in humid climates use a fan to blow over the pad. Once the pad is dry, lightly brush it with a pet brush to help to keep the wool fluffy and resilient for the next ride.

Washing and drying: Use a soap designed for sheepskin to keep your pad under warranty. You may machine wash in a front loader, no agitators against the ThinLine panels, gentle wash cycle, cold water. Remove excess water in the pad by squeezing the water out or placing in washing machine on the spin cycle.

Hand Washing: Fill washing machine (or bathtub for really large items) with water, then add a sheepskin soap. Soak for 1 hour squeezing soap and water through item from time to time. Squeeze or use the spin cycle to remove excess water and lay over a rack or rail to dry with sheepskin facing up. Keep out of the sun, and away from direct heat and dryers.

When the care instructions are followed properly, our sheepskin pads are proving to have an expected 4-6 years of use.

The ThinLine panels provide all of the support and comfort needed in most situations with 95% shock absorption, pressure point elimination, and the way it distributes weight evenly across the entire pad. Hi. We offer mostly very thin pads with extraordinary shock absorption. You are correct, this pad is one of the thickest pads we do, this and the 1/4 inch Pro-Tech Pads.  Search for Liners (little magnifying glass at the top right of the site) and you will see all of our super thin pads!

  14. Are there ready-made pockets for shims already in the pad? I couldn't tell from the photo. Thanks! Mary Hanson

Hi Mary, thanks for your question! Yes, the open pocket for adding shims is under the ThinLine panels along the topline of the pad. Zooming in on the pictures will allow you to see the opening at the bottom of the panel where you can add your shims.
