This Western felt saddle pad has a wither-relief cutout which is best for moderate to low or mutton withered horses and a breathable mesh spine band, further reducing the chance of pressure points. Thank you for your question! The square version of this pad comes in only one size. The small size shown in the sizing tab refers to the round skirt version, which has its own product page. Sorry about any confusion!
Is the pad too thick to use with a show blanket?

Hi Cathy! Thanks for your question!
The ProTech pads are 1/2" felt, with 3/16" ThinLine panels incorporated along the topline, for a total thickness of .68", just under 3/4".
This pad is perfect under a show blanket if your saddle has enough room to accomodate that thickness without causing a too-tight saddle fit.
If you have a more closely fitted saddle, one of our 3/8" thick liner pads would be a great option under your show blanket.
Either way, you'll have superior support and shock absorption under your show pad to keep your horse at his/her best!

Just love my saddle pad! It is so soft, not stiff at all and stays put…no sliding. Adds just enough padding to make my horse comfortable, but not too much that it makes it bulky. Perfect balance.
