Relax and keep your rein.

Description

Comfort Grip Western Trail Rein

Relaxation with instant grip when you need it is the hallmark feature of the Comfort Grip Western Trail Rein.

Eight plus feet of braided cotton is balanced with 38 inches of the famous ThinLine non-slip material in the center and finished with stainless steel scissor snaps. This is a single comfort grip rein; frequently called roper reins, roping reins, and contest reins. This product is one continuous Western trail rein that attaches to the bit at each end.

ThinLine is a non-slip foam with extreme durability.  It molds to your hand, allowing you to ride relaxed while providing extreme grip at a moment’s notice! The uncanny way the hand never slips from the rein keeps horsemen dedicated to riding with ThinLine reins. For trail riders, this rein will serve as a “keeper” in your tack box.  Endurance riders will never forget how they made the day so much more comfortable, safe and secure.

These reins feel amazing in my arthritic hands. They are so soft to the touch. After exercising a couple horses my hands didn’t hurt. They have a good grip to them and diameter. Not too thick or thin. Plus, the weight of them are spot on. Definitely not too light nor are they heavy on the bit. Another thing I noticed is they don’t flop excessively and I felt like they made my hands softer to the bit. Love them! I will need to order another pair so I don’t have to take them off one bridal to exercise my other horse.

I really do love these reins as an endurance/trail rider. The thinline material keeps my hands super comfortable throughout the day on a long ride, plus it’s fun to just squish. Well crafted and the snap ends make it so easy to switch it up. The reason I’m only giving it a 3/5 is because I wish the thinline material traveled longer down the rein length. An extra 6” on both sides would be wonderful for when I have to collect my horse up occasionally and it leaves me hanging onto the braided cotton… also I wish the material was wrapped fully around the rein. The fact that there is an exposed edge of rein/thinline and then it’s just sewn down leaves a thick seam that feels uncomfortable in the hands when you have to either hold a crop or have a tight grip. Other than that, I enjoy the thinline material and these are nicely made reins, I will just have to be particular about the rides I use them on if I know there will be more collection or I will need to carry a crop.

I have used these reins for at least 2 years now. I do love the thickness and grip of the wrap, and feel it does reduce the numbness and tingling I often get in my fingers when riding.
I love the snaps for ease of swapping the reins to different bridles, or unsnapping one side to lead.
The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is I wish they did not have the exposed seam/edge running around the wrapped part. I’d rather have it be a bit bulkier with the sewn part on the inside if possible.

Love these reins but wish the thin line material covered more of the rein. My guy is petite pony sized so I feel like I rarely get to experience the thin line. I’d happily pay more for a full thin line western rein

  2. 9' to 10' reins are best for trail riding, especially for allowing horses to reach down to drink without the rider having to lean way forward. Will you ever consider making longer trail reins?
