Tack Care instructions

We strongly recommend using all-natural  ThinLine Cleaners  for our easy-care reins, boots, girths and other tack. The formula is completely safe for the ThinLine foam, and does an excellent job of cleaning the leather too! Simple dish soap will work as well and baby wipes are handy for a quick clean up! Please avoid leather care products; they contain oil which is damaging to ThinLine. While it looks and feels like leather, it is a very special, nonslip, pressure distributing foam. For conditioning the leather, we recommend using a paste-like conditioner (like Horseman’s One Step) so that you can control the application to avoid contact with the ThinLine.

Please be aware that leather care products and chemicals such as Show Sheen and fly spray can cause the foam to harden.

What is ThinLine?

ThinLine is a thin, shock-absorbing non-slip breathable foam.

  • Impact (shock) absorbency of over 95%
  • Carrying Capacity – it is the only equestrian product that distributes rider weight
  • Non compressing – It never bottoms out, moves or degrades.
  • Breathable
  • Non-Slip

You will feel all the sensations of your horses’ back muscles while enjoying the shock absorption and non-slip features of the trademark ThinLine foam. Balance, comfort, and security can all be yours in our saddle pads. You will find yourself sitting correctly, developing great core strength while enjoying a close but quiet communication with your horse. Equines love ThinLine – they feel unified with their rider. So go ahead, it is time to have the ride of your life.

How do I know ThinLine is delivering the comfort and protection my horse needs?

Once you receive your ThinLine girth, ride in it for at least a week.  At first, you may simply notice things like; “my horse was great today, my seat and aids were soft and effective”, great job! you are on your way.  You will see daily improvement. But, this can be a bit subtle in the beginning.

How to check out your girth’s effectiveness.  After at least a week of riding daily, begin your warm-up with the ThinLine.  Once you are warmed up, remove the ThinLine and ride.  This is when you will see just how much your horse is loving their girth.

Terrific girth! So soft and pliable. My horse likes the feel with elastic on both ends. I love that it has a dee for a breastplate and it’s very easy to clean.

Is it leather or ThinLine on the inside of the girth that touches the horse?
  1. Q Is it leather or ThinLine on the inside of the girth that touches the horse? answer now
    A

Thanks for your question! The girth is made with Italian leather lined with ThinLine so inside that touches the horse is the ThinLine material, not leather. While it looks and feels like leather, it is a very special, nonslip, pressure distributing foam that is antifungal and causes no rubs. Great for more sensitive horses!
