I just got a brand new Thinline Perfect Fit half pad. After only one use, it picked up the color (burgundy) from the baby pad underneath. I've now used it four times and the burgundy color is getting darker on the bottom of the Thinline. How do I clean this back to white and prevent it from picking up color in future use??

I have an 18” Trilogy saddle on a short block. Imagining a half pad with my tape measure, it looks like a 21-3/4” medium would give me an inch in front and an inch behind the saddle parts resting on the horse. Even though usually you recommend a large for an 18” saddle, is a medium possibly vortectbin my case!

Thanks for your question! The medium may work for your 18" saddle as all saddles are built a little differently. A medium under your saddle might give a more contoured, fitted look where a large will give you a little more length in the front and back. It can come down to preference! Feel free to try either size out and use our 30 day satisfaction guarantee to return or exchange it if you don't like the fit!
When will the black medium be back in stock? I want to pair this half pad with a sheepskin pad. How well does this half pad pair with your sheepskin pad, or is it better to use it with a simple cotton pad?

Thank you for your question! We make our pads in-house at our workshop in North Carolina, so it will only take a couple of days to make one for you if you order it on backorder.
The pad works beautifully over any base pad. Your saddle fit will determine if you have room for sheepskin or if a thinner, quilted pad would be better.
Will the small work for a 15" saddle or will it be too big?
-
A
Thanks for your question! The small Perfect Fit Pad is made for saddles 16.5" and under and has a 19.75" spine length. To ensure the correct fit, you can compare the length to a well-fitting pad you already have on hand.

Could this pad be used as a non-slip pad under tack? Like directly on horse?
-
A
Thank you for your question!
The ThinLine foam is really nice against the horse- it is nonslip, super soft, easy to clean, antimicrobial, and antifungal.
We usually recommend using the Perfect Fit pad with another pad underneath, but it can also be used directly against your horse.
When using without a base pad, it may not last as long due to prolonged contact with sweat, dirt, etc.

Love this pad. I’ve been trying various pads which won’t change saddle fit. Because of the flexible mesh spine, the pad is easy to pull up into the gullet. It’s minimal, no frills. Works better than anything else I’ve tried. I can feel the difference in cushioning from the saddle. Horse went really nicely in it.

This is the second ThinLine pad I have and I love it because of the mesh spine – it always sits properly on the back. No need to adjust from side to side, and it doesn’t ever press down on the withers. It also is unaffected by cold weather. My original one can get stiff in the winter and develop waves/wrinkles and has to warm up to conform to the back and this one always fits smoothly. It goes without saying that the shock absorption without bulk is THE reason to use ThinLine.

My favorite half pad. I used to use the ThinLine that didn’t have the trim or mesh spine which would crack on the spine and become hard in the winter. Leaving me to duct tape the cracks and go through 2 in a couple years which was super unfortunate as they were my favorite half pad. Then ThinLine released this half pad which fix all my problems with the previous version. This half pad has lasted me a long while now (still going) and still looks brand new. I use it everyday and for shows in a various weather conditions with no issue. Highly recommend as I can feel the difference in my horses jump with the shock absorbing material. Also the large fits my custom 18” CWD saddle.

I love the Perfect Fit ThinLine pad! I have the original design in white (from back when it was called ThinLine Ultra) and used it for 10+ years. Since getting a new saddle, I wanted a new ThinLine in black. The shape of this pad makes tacking up easier and it is always even on my horses back. And the performance is still just a great as it was with my original ThinLine! My back feels good when riding with it and it does not change the fit of my custom fit saddle. The only downside was finding the correct size – I have an 18-inch dressage saddle for which the manufacturer recommends a large and that was too long. The medium size fits perfect with just enough room around the saddle.

Years ago, after trying several half pads, I found the original Thinline half pad. I loved it and used it every ride. Years later my daughter has her horse and started riding. I turned over my older Thinline . I was getting her own Thinline, and the Thinline rep directed me to the upgraded Perfect Fit pad. I love the improvements! It is a bit bigger to make for a better fit under the saddle. I almost kept it for me! : )
* as a side note, just like years ago when I asked for help, Thinline still has such helpful reps. They will answer all your questions and find the best pad for your horse.

This is an aptly named product- it has everything I needed for my younger horse. His saddle is fitted very well to him, but he cracks his back (and mine, often!) when he jumps and really benefits from a shock-absorbing pad. As he’s muscled up his gel half pad was just a bit too thick, so I needed to find something else. I use the old Contender II pads exclusively on my other jumper, but as they are no longer made I decided to see if I could replicate that model to a certain degree by combining the Perfect Fit pad with with my young horse’s (extensive) collection of nice saddle pads. It works! He has no back ouchiness even after showing or big jump schools and the pads are so thin they do not change the fit of his saddle at all. I really wanted to find something with a channel in the middle so I could push the halfpad and pad up into the gullet so it wouldn’t flatten across his withers, and this pad works perfectly in that sense because of the central netting. I have one for showing in white, and another in black for daily work. When my Contender II pads finally give up the ghost I will definitely switch my older guy to this half pad. I love Thinline products, and I couldn’t be happier with the design and functionality of this pad.
