What is ThinLine?

ThinLine is a thin, shock-absorbing non-slip breathable foam.

  • Impact (shock) absorbency of over 95%
  • Carrying Capacity – it is the only equestrian product that distributes rider weight across the pad
  • Non compressing – It never bottoms out, moves or degrades.
  • Breathable
  • Non-Slip
  • It is the only saddle pad endorsed by spinal surgeons, master saddlers, and veterinarians for back health in horses and humans.

You will feel all the sensations of your horses’ back muscles while enjoying the shock absorption and non-slip features of the trademark ThinLine foam. Balance, comfort, and security can all be yours in our saddle pads. You will find yourself sitting correctly, developing great core strength while enjoying a close but quiet communication with your horse. Equines love ThinLine – they feel unified with their rider. So go ahead, it is time to have the ride of your life.

How do I know ThinLine is delivering the comfort and protection my horse needs?

Once you receive your ThinLine pad, ride in it for at least a week.  At first, you may simply notice things like; “my horse was great today, my seat and aids were soft and effective”, great job! you are on your way.  You will see daily improvement. But, this can be a bit subtle in the beginning.

How to check out your pad’s effectiveness.  After at least a week of riding daily, begin your warm-up with the ThinLine.  Once you are warmed up, remove the ThinLine and ride.  This is when you will see just how much your horse is loving their saddle pad.

I just bought a TW ranch saddle, which requires a thinner pad. I love Diamond Wool products so I decided to try this duo between Thin Line and Diamond Wool. I’m more than impressed! It is easy to lift up in the front for wither clearance and conforms to my horses body. It’s just as good as my Diamond Wool pads I have used with other saddles. You won’t be disappointed with this purchase.

Thanks for your question! The Diamond Line pad's contoured topline and wither clearance are a great fit for most conformations. If your horse has extremely high withers, the Western Cotton Liner pad and the Western Woven Wool pad have the highest wither clearance of our western pads and would also be good options to consider.

Thanks for your question! The shims are expected to be available again in mid-February 24. So sorry about the inconvenience!

The shims are easy to trim, so you're welcome to buy a shim for a saddle with a larger panel (any of the square western pads) and trim it down as needed to fit into your Diamond Line pad.

Hi!  Actually, any of our pads will work well for horses with muscle atrophy. One of the gifts of ThinLine is that the horses actually move up into the saddle.  If you use our shims (these are located just below every saddle pad selection) you simply cut the shims, place them in the pocket under the ThinLine, fill the gap and let the horse develop better muscle tone.

A HI. A solid brushing. Then you can hose it off. Use any sheepskin wash if you need soap then just let it hang to dry, out of the sun!
