English Endurance Saddle Pad Construction.

The base construction of this saddle pad contains heavy duty quilted cotton with wool fill, with a washable synthetic sheepskin base. The ThinLine lies on either side of the spine creating a perfect support panel which works well with endurance and treeless saddles. Bonus! Extra girth, or drop rig, protection shield, made of ThinLine.

Compatible Saddles.

Designed to fit most drop or center-fire rigged endurance saddles. And it works well for many saddle styles, including Australian saddles and Treeless saddles.

Synthetic Sheepskin Care Instructions

One of the great features of selecting synthetic fleece against your horse; you have incredible softness without the high maintenance of real sheepskin.  So feel free to get sweaty and work hard!  The ThinLine will be ventilating the heat from under your saddle.

This pad may be a bit large for your home washing machine, but it is machine washable with cold water. Use our SheepskinWash for best results. Or brush off daily. A simple hosing will do as well. Your pad comes with a full one year warranty.

How do I know ThinLine is delivering the comfort and protection my horse needs?

Once you receive your ThinLine pad, ride in it for at least a week.  At first, you may simply notice things like; “my horse was great today, my seat and aids were soft and effective”, great job! you are on your way.  You will see daily improvement. But, this can be a bit subtle in the beginning. 

How to check out your pad’s effectiveness.  After at least a week of riding daily, begin your warm-up with the ThinLine.  Once you are warmed up, remove the ThinLine and ride.  This is when you will see just how much your horse is loving their saddle pad.

    I am between this one and the cotton version. I live in florida and during the summers my horse sweats so much that it goes through the pad and ruins the leather. Would the cotton pad liner be too thin to where it will sweat through easily?

    Thanks for your question! This pad is lined with synthetic sheepskin and is thicker than the cotton pad. The synthetic sheepskin will wick away sweat and moisture and should prevent your tack from becoming sweaty. You may also like our Woven Wool Endurance Drop Rigging Pad found here. The base is made with a great breathable Air-Mesh material and merino woven wool over the back and wither.

    Layering pads can work depending on the goal you're trying to achieve. It can also create too much bulk under your saddle, creating pressure points and discomfort.  It's similar to wearing a thick sock in a well-fitted shoe.

The cotton version of the Endurance Drop Rigging pad and the Working Equitation and Endurance pad both measure 5/8" thick and have 3/16" ThinLine panels along the topline for a total thickness of just over 1/2" under the weight-bearing points of your saddle. As far as the sizing, both will work with your 23.5" long saddle. Your rigging may also determine which pad you'd prefer. The spine length of the Endurance Drop Rigging Saddle Pad is 27", giving you more pad length at the front and back of your saddle and has a longer front drop. The spine length of the Working Equitation Pad is 25.5" for a closer fit and has a longer center drop. Hope that helps! Please contact us with any other questions!

Please give us a call at 888-401-9101 for an update on their availability. This pad has a 27" spine length and may be a bit too long for your saddle. Does the 22" measurement include the skirts?

    A Thank you for your question! The cotton version is the recommended option for you. The cotton and the ThinLine panels allow for heat ventilation and the reduced thickness will help prevent saddle slip.

    A Thank you for your question! Both the all-cotton and fleece lined styles of this pad may be washed. The care instructions recommend that they be washed in cold water with a mild soap, preferably by hand. They can also be washed in a large front loading machine with the Ultra ThinLine panels turned to the inside. Hang to dry out of the sun and away from heat sources.

We offer the Saddle Fitter's Kit, which comes with 1 set of front shims in ThinLine Plus thickness (1/4") and 2 sets of rear shims in Ultra ThinLine thickness (3/16"). Simply follow the link below, select your pad from the first drop down menu and Saddle Fitter's Kit from the second drop down menu. If you prefer a different combination, they would need to be purchased separately.

This pad is constructed of a quilted cotton base with fleece lining (about 3/4"), and has Ultra ThinLine panels (3/16") sewn across the top of the pad and at the bottom of the flap. In the areas covered in Ultra ThinLine, the measurement is just shy of 1", and is about 3/4" everywhere else.

    A Thanks for your question! This pad is a great fit for treeless saddles due to its high wither profile and the Ultra ThinLine panels across the top of the pad. We also just introduced a new shim style, the Booster shim, that is a great addition to use with a treeless saddle. It provides the extra lift and cushioning along the full length of the pad that so many treeless saddle riders want for their horse. Be sure to check the measurements to be certain that this pad is the correct size for your particular saddle.

    Absolutely!  The ThinLine panels are sewn on either side of the center spine band.  Because the ThinLine does not compress it lifts the panels providing support, shock absorption and pressure relief.  Thinline is a great choice for treeless saddles.
